A B2B-Focused Content Agency
Verbatim is a content marketing agency focused on helping early stage B2B startups, particularly in e-commerce and fintech, build their brand and generate leads through high-quality content. Clients include leading companies like OpenStore, Rutter, Novel Commerce, and etc.
Verbatim initially started by offering editorial services to create whitepapers, case studies, and other long-form content assets. However, they quickly realized the value of social media for distribution and lead generation. This prompted them to expand into managing social media marketing and scheduling for their clients, particularly on LinkedIn and Twitter.
“Content is only as valuable as how it's being used. And I think for founders and startup founders in particular, they're really looking to start building a brand, a personal brand, and the business brand, and Assembly is the obvious spot to start doing that.”
Moving away from Publer
As Verbatim expanded into content distribution, Claire, who leads Verbatim’s strategy and operations, was tasked with figuring out what infrastructure to put in place to really be able to scale and service more clients effectively.
Verbatim previously used the social media scheduling tool Publer to handle content distribution. However, they found Publer to be limited in its functionality.
Key challenges included:
- No calendar view to visualize upcoming posts across clients
- Difficult to give client visibility into scheduled posts
- Manual sharing of logins created security risks
- Lack of robust analytics on performance
- No ability to tag personal profiles on Linkedin, which is extremely important for founders
- Limited basic formatting for images and videos
Without the right tools, scheduling social media was inefficient and created risks around posting from client profiles. Verbatim needed a solution that provided more controls, visibility, and insights to scale their social media efforts.
